"The only time that there's a frame on my work is when somebody has given me an old painting to paint over with a frame already attached.I feel that frames and glass take away from experiencing the art, creates an artificial barrier between the art and the viewer. All of the larger pieces are on unstretched canvas tacked right up on the studio wall and I prefer that they be seen this way as well.A part of my process involves not treating each piece as some sort of precious thing and in so doing I am able to allow the muses to howl, scream, spit, kick and drag those images out of the depths and up to the surface."
