"The Jim Charette Sound Project was officially started April 8th,2008,when I approached a few friends about letting me use some of their lyrical and vocal skills to mix in with some of the muzak I'd created.I've always considered it muzak as I am not a musician,nor do I pretend to be one.I don't consider these 'songs' so much as pieces of art,sound sculptures if you will.Simply an artist playing with sound.I am not a performer,once I record these improvised tracks I will never play them again.I wouldn't want to repaint the same painting over and over again and I am less interested in performing them than I am in creating them.So,as of April 8th,2008 and continuing through April 7th 2009,I will post one new piece every day and then see where I go from there.So,please,check them out and,if you enjoy them,tell somebody you know about them,and feel free to let me know what you think.I appreciate any and all feedback."-JIm Charette 2008

"O.k,well that statement above was made almost three years ago and the sound project has continued and that's putting it mildly.Once those flood gates were opened they would not be closed.I have since crested over the 600 mark for number of songs created(yes,I have started calling them songs and music at the persistent instigation of a few very considerate and encouraging 'real musicians' who've told me that I too am a musician-which is an inordinately high compliment to be paid by men who amaze me daily with their skills).The sound project has in fact become the spiritual center of all that I do so,how do you stop something like that?!Well,YOU DON'T-and I will continue to listen to the muses for just as long as they'll let me"-Jim Charette 2011.
